The City of Presidio has opened a new outdoor exercise center, adding another recreational amenity for residents looking to stay active outdoors.
The city announced Thursday that the exercise area is now open and is located next to the community’s covered playground area.
Photos shared by the city show several pieces of outdoor fitness equipment installed on an artificial-turf surface beneath a large shade canopy. The equipment provides users with several options for strength, mobility and cardiovascular exercise.
The covered design offers some protection from the intense West Texas sun, while the location next to the playground creates a space where adults can exercise near an existing family recreation area.
The city announced the opening in both English and Spanish, reflecting Presidio’s predominantly bilingual border community.
The exercise center is open for public use.
