Ojinaga invites residents to community volleyball event at Parque del Divisadero

The Ojinaga municipal government is inviting residents to take part in a neighborhood volleyball gathering Friday evening at Parque del Divisadero.

The event, organized through the Instituto Ojinaguense del Deporte y Cultura Física, is part of the city’s “Tirando Barrio x Tu Comunidad” initiative, which uses recreational sports to encourage community participation and strengthen connections among neighbors.

The gathering is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at Parque del Divisadero.

Organizers are encouraging residents to bring a volleyball net and join other members of the community for an evening of volleyball and recreation.

“Because sports are also lived in your neighborhood, come share, get active and strengthen the unity among neighbors,” the municipality said in its Spanish-language announcement.

The event is open to neighborhood residents and is intended to provide an informal setting for exercise, recreation and community interaction.

The Instituto Ojinaguense del Deporte y Cultura Física operates under the Ojinaga municipal government and organizes athletic and recreational programs in the border community across the Rio Grande from Presidio, Texas.
