The Big Bend Bluegrass Festival will celebrate its fifth anniversary Oct. 2-3 at the Alpine Civic Center, bringing two days of live music, workshops and jamming to West Texas.
The indoor festival begins at 3 p.m. Friday and continues through 10 p.m. Saturday at the civic center, 801 W. Holland Ave.
This year’s lineup includes Special Consensus, the Edgar Loudermilk Band, Catahoula Drive, the Edwards Brothers, Righteous Intonation and the Finley River Boys.
Special Consensus is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, while the Edgar Loudermilk Band will appear both Friday and Saturday.
In addition to scheduled performances, the festival will feature free workshops and opportunities for musicians to jam together. Food vendors will be available, and the event offers indoor seating throughout the festival.
The fifth-anniversary celebration comes as Alpine prepares to welcome bluegrass musicians and fans from across the region for an event that has become part of the community’s fall calendar.
Tickets are available in advance and will also be sold at the door, according to festival organizers.
