Chihuahua state police recovered two vehicles reported stolen and seized a third with suspected altered identification information during an operation Saturday night in Ojinaga, authorities said.
The Chihuahua Secretariat of Public Security said officers with its Police Deployment Subsecretariat and Northern Zone Operations Directorate encountered the vehicles at about 9 p.m. Sept. 20 near Eighth and Mina streets in the Porfirio Ornelas neighborhood.
Authorities said one of the vehicles, a black 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with Texas registration, had been reported stolen Aug. 7, 2025, in Denver.
Officers also recovered a burgundy 2021 JAC without license plates that had been reported stolen April 15 in Chihuahua City, according to the agency.
A third vehicle, a white Lincoln Nautilus without license plates, was seized after officers found what authorities described as characteristics associated with the manufacture, alteration or improper use of license plates, registration stickers or other vehicle identification documents.
The three vehicles were seized and are expected to be turned over to the Chihuahua Attorney General’s Office for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Authorities did not announce any arrests in connection with the vehicles.
