Three members of the Family Crisis Center of the Big Bend are in San Antonio this week for training focused on assisting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Advocates Deb Guerrero and Esperanza Carrasco and Executive Director Letty Carrillo are attending the Texas RioGrande Legal Aid Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Cross-Training, according to the Family Crisis Center.
The training brings together professionals who work with survivors and focuses on collaboration, advocacy and sharing knowledge and resources, the organization said.
The Family Crisis Center said continuing education and collaboration help its staff provide informed and effective advocacy while bringing additional knowledge and resources back to the Big Bend communities it serves.
The organization thanked Texas RioGrande Legal Aid for providing the training and an opportunity for advocates from across Texas to connect and strengthen their work supporting survivors.
The Family Crisis Center of the Big Bend provides services and advocacy for people affected by domestic violence and sexual assault in the Big Bend region.
