Marathon West Fest to feature two-day cook-off, music and activities Sept. 18-19

The West Fest Cabrito Cook-Off will return to Post Park in Marathon Sept. 18-19, bringing two days of cooking competitions, music and activities while supporting local community organizations.

The event begins Friday, Sept. 18, with competitions for salsa, margaritas, steak and mystery meat.

Competition continues Saturday, Sept. 19, with categories for beans, beef fajitas, Dutch oven bread, Dutch oven dessert, ribs, brisket and cabrito. Organizers specify that canned beans are not allowed in the beans competition.

DJ Mike AM will provide music during the festival.

West Fest will also feature cornhole and washers, with the event benefiting the Marathon Volunteer Fire Department and Marathon PTO.

The two-day festival will be held at Post Park in Marathon.
