Davis Mountains State Park is seeking an operations ranger to help maintain the state park and historic Indian Lodge complex near Fort Davis.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department announced the opening Sunday for a Maintenance Specialist IV, describing the position as a senior-level maintenance role involving construction, restoration and preventive maintenance.
The employee will work across the Davis Mountains State Park-Indian Lodge complex, performing skilled work involving plumbing, heating and air conditioning, refrigeration, mechanical systems, water and septic systems, basic electrical work, carpentry and grounds maintenance.
The position also includes supporting safety and preventive maintenance programs and handling administrative duties such as reporting and purchasing. The park said it is seeking someone who can work with considerable independence and initiative.

Davis Mountains State Park sits in the Davis Mountains west of Fort Davis and includes the historic Indian Lodge, the adobe-style hotel built by Civilian Conservation Corps workers in the 1930s.
