Ojinaga water service interruption planned Tuesday for valve replacement

Residents in several Ojinaga neighborhoods will experience a temporary water service interruption Tuesday as crews replace control valves in the city’s water system.

The Junta Municipal de Agua y Saneamiento de Ojinaga, the city’s water and sanitation authority, announced that the interruption is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18.

The agency said water service will be suspended in the Moderna, Progreso, Centro, Niños Héroes, Constitución, Deportiva, Zapata, Fronteriza and Río Bravo neighborhoods.

Residents in higher-elevation areas of Ojinaga should also expect low water pressure during the work, according to the agency.

Officials said the interruption is necessary to allow crews to replace control valves. The utility thanked residents for their understanding while the work is completed.

Ojinaga, Chihuahua, sits directly across the Rio Grande from Presidio, Texas.
