Terlingua Cares will host an all-ages community show-and-tell event featuring live music, prizes and a barbecue buffet Saturday, July 25, at DB’s Rustic Iron BBQ.
The event begins at 3 p.m. and invites residents to bring unusual, nostalgic or handmade objects to share with the community. No donation is required to participate.
Prizes will be awarded in categories including coolest artifact, most Terlinguan, least desirable, most nostalgic, best handmade, out of this world and “the most people touched it.”
NaniByrd, Sierra Turkot and Riley Amanda are scheduled to provide free live music.
A $20 all-you-can-eat buffet will include brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork, sausage, beef ribs and turkey. Organizers said the meal represents a $100 value and includes a complimentary Hamm’s beer for eligible guests.
The gathering is intended to offer residents a casual summer afternoon centered on local stories, curiosities and community participation.
