Alpine Animal Services is waiving adoption fees for dogs and cats through Sunday, July 26, as the shelter works to create space during its busiest season.
The free-adoption event, sponsored by Best Friends Animal Society, began Monday and is intended to help the shelter manage an increase in stray animals and the seasonal birth of kittens and puppies.
“Summer tends to be the busiest time of year for stray intakes as well as kitten and puppies being born,” Alpine Animal Services said. “With your help, we can make more space for animals in need.”
People interested in adopting can visit the Alpine Animal Services Shelter from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or from 2 to 6 p.m. The shelter is located at 2900 Old Marathon Highway in Alpine.
Available animals can also be viewed through the shelter’s listings on Petfinder.
