Authorities have identified a person found dead Tuesday along Highway 118 about 5 miles south of Kent, the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office said.
Next of kin notification was underway, and the person’s identity was not being released until all appropriate family members had been notified.
The scene has been cleared, and Highway 118 has reopened to normal traffic.
The Sheriff’s Office thanked the public for its patience and cooperation during the investigation. No additional details about the person or the circumstances of the death were immediately released.
