Fire breaks out at abandoned rail facility on east side of Presidio

Presidio volunteer firefighters responded to a fire at a long-abandoned railroad facility on the east side of the city.

Photos from the scene showed flames burning through part of the structure as thick black smoke rose above the property.

The fire occurred at an abandoned building formerly used for rail cars, according to an update from the scene. The structure had reportedly caught fire several days earlier before flames were again observed.
