A pickup truck rolled over Sunday afternoon on the Aldama–Ojinaga highway in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, leaving the driver with minor injuries, according to local reports.
The crash occurred near kilometer marker 46 on the roadway connecting Ciudad Aldama and Ojinaga. Authorities reported that the vehicle, a red Ford double-cab pickup truck, was traveling toward the United States when the accident occurred.
Emergency responders from the Ciudad Aldama Red Cross arrived at the scene and treated the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Officials said the driver sustained only minor injuries.
According to information provided at the scene, the driver reported that the rollover happened after yielding to another vehicle and losing control of the pickup. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned.
Firefighters, public safety personnel and traffic police from Ciudad Aldama also responded to the incident.
The crash marks another reported rollover along the Aldama–Ojinaga corridor, a heavily traveled route connecting northern Chihuahua with the Presidio–Ojinaga border crossing. Authorities have not released additional information regarding contributing factors to the crash.
Volcadura en la carretera Aldama–Ojinaga deja un lesionado leve
Una camioneta pickup volcó la tarde del domingo sobre la carretera Aldama–Ojinaga, en el estado de Chihuahua, dejando al conductor con lesiones leves, de acuerdo con reportes locales.
El accidente ocurrió a la altura del kilómetro 46 de la vía que conecta Ciudad Aldama con Ojinaga. Según la información disponible, el vehículo, una camioneta Ford de doble cabina color rojo, se dirigía hacia la frontera con Estados Unidos cuando se registró el percance.
Paramédicos de la Cruz Roja de Ciudad Aldama acudieron al lugar para brindar atención médica al conductor, quien era el único ocupante de la unidad. Las autoridades informaron que las lesiones sufridas fueron de carácter leve.
De acuerdo con la versión del conductor, el accidente ocurrió después de ceder el paso a otra unidad y perder el control del vehículo. Como consecuencia, la camioneta salió de la cinta asfáltica y terminó volcada fuera de la carretera.
Al lugar también acudieron elementos del cuerpo de bomberos, seguridad pública y policía vial de Ciudad Aldama para atender la emergencia y asegurar la zona.
El incidente se suma a otros accidentes registrados en la carretera Aldama–Ojinaga, una de las principales rutas que conectan el norte de Chihuahua con la región fronteriza de Ojinaga y el cruce internacional hacia Presidio, Texas. Hasta el momento, las autoridades no han dado a conocer más detalles sobre las causas del percance.
