Schoolhouse Rock Live! Opens July 2 at Kokernot Outdoor Theatre in Alpine

The countdown is on for the opening of Schoolhouse Rock Live! as Alpine Community Theatre prepares to launch its 61st season of summer outdoor performances at the historic Kokernot Outdoor Theatre.

The family-friendly musical, based on the Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series, opens Thursday, July 2, and runs Thursdays through Sundays through July 19. Performances begin nightly at 8 p.m.

Schoolhouse Rock Live! brings to life many of the educational songs that helped generations of children learn history, grammar, math and civics through memorable melodies and colorful characters. The stage adaptation transforms the beloved television series into a live theatrical experience designed to entertain audiences of all ages.

Organizers say the production continues a long-standing tradition of summer outdoor theater in Alpine, offering residents and visitors a chance to enjoy live entertainment under the stars at one of West Texas’ most recognizable performance venues.

Tickets are currently on sale. Admission is free for all U.S. military veterans and active-duty service members.

The production is part of Alpine Community Theatre’s 61st season and will be presented at the Kokernot Outdoor Theatre from July 2 through July 19.
