Ferguson Motors to host July 2 concert during Sanderson’s Fourth of July festivities

Ferguson Motors will host live music July 2 as Sanderson gears up for its annual Fourth of July celebrations.

Ferguson Motors announced it will host Rick Ruiz and the band “A Few Too Many” on Thursday, July 2, at its downtown location.

The former Ford dealership, now operating as a coffee shop, event venue and gathering space, offers food, beer, wine, local goods and community events in downtown Sanderson.

“These guys bring a crowd and are too much fun,” Ferguson Motors wrote in a social media post promoting the performance, encouraging residents and visitors to make a long weekend out of Sanderson’s Fourth of July week.

The concert is part of a broader lineup of Independence Day activities in town. Ferguson Motors also highlighted a Friday night performance by Craig Carter & Spur Of The Moment, scheduled for the Terrell County Courthouse lawn.

Promotional materials shared online show support from a variety of local and regional sponsors, including Tall Texan Sotol, Big Bend Coffee Roasters, Thorn Ranches, The Sighting, Brindle Canyon Bartlett Ranch, KL1Q Enterprises, Skelton Drug and Desert Air Motel.

Located at 111 W. Oak St., Ferguson Motors has increasingly served as a community hub in Sanderson, hosting events while offering coffee, food and drinks in a repurposed historic building.

“Come make a long weekend of it,” the business wrote, noting there will be “lots to do around town” during the holiday week.
