Ojinaga mayor visits neighborhood park, oversees new soccer field project

Ojinaga Municipal President Lucy Marrufo visited a park in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood this week to inspect progress on the construction of a new 5-on-5 soccer field, according to the municipal government.

During the visit, Marrufo reviewed work underway at the site and met with officials overseeing the project, which city leaders said is intended to provide residents with an adequate recreational space for local athletes and youth sports.

Municipal officials described the project as an investment in community recreation and athletic development, saying the field is expected to encourage participation in sports and provide a dedicated space for neighborhood activities.

Photos shared by the municipal government show Marrufo touring the construction area with staff and reviewing site conditions as work continues.

No timeline for completion or project cost was immediately released in the city’s announcement.
