Bakery in Alpine secures beer, wine permit; expands dinner offerings

Bread Garden Bakery Alpine has received its beer and wine permit and will begin serving alcoholic beverages with dinner service starting Saturday, June 6, according to a social media announcement from the business.

The permit marks another expansion for the locally owned bakery and market, which recently launched dinner service in addition to its existing breakfast and lunch offerings.

Known for its sourdough breads, bagels and baked goods, the business has also grown into a specialty food market, offering prepared take-home meals, gourmet items, meats and locally sourced products. Owners said the beverage selection is expected to grow over time as they connect with more regional brewers and craft winemakers.

The bakery’s initial offerings include beer from regional craft producers and Texas wines, with plans to continue adding local selections.

The addition of beer and wine service comes as the business broadens its role in Alpine’s dining scene, now operating across breakfast, lunch and dinner while also serving customers seeking prepared meals and specialty grocery items to take home.
