Pride Marfa organizers are planning a June fundraiser in downtown Marfa as preparations continue for this year’s Pride Marfa celebration, scheduled for Sept. 11–13.
According to a social media post shared by Concierge Marfa, the fundraiser will take place June 14 at Capri in Marfa and will feature performances by local entertainers, raffle prizes and a themed dress-up element inspired by prom attire.
The event is being held during Pride Month as an early celebration and fundraiser for the September festivities.
“Happy Pride Month, everyone!” organizers wrote in the announcement. “This year Pride Marfa is happening September 11–13, but fear not! We’re celebrating Pride Month on June 14 with a fundraiser event at Capri.”
Attendees are encouraged to dress up for the “prom” themed evening or simply attend as spectators. Organizers said the event will include appearances by “legendary locals,” prizes through a raffle and community gathering.
The fundraiser is scheduled to be held at Capri, a bar and gathering space at 603 W. San Antonio St. in Marfa.
Pride Marfa organizers encouraged the public to follow the organization’s social media channels for updates on the September event and additional programming.
