Alpine Cowboys’ Home Run 5K/10K Draws 74 Runners at Kokernot Field

The Alpine Cowboys Pro Baseball Club said its Home Run 5K/10K fundraiser at Kokernot Field drew 74 runners Saturday, marking what organizers described as a successful community event benefiting the hometown baseball organization.

The race, held at historic Kokernot Field, featured both 5K and 10K options and brought together runners and supporters from across the region in support of the Alpine Cowboys and their summer baseball activities.

In a social media post following the event, the Alpine Cowboys thanked participants and celebrated the turnout, calling the fundraiser “a huge success.”

Photos shared by the organization showed runners gathered in front of Kokernot Field and Cowboys players assisting with post-race activities and awards.

The fundraiser was announced earlier this week as part of the team’s efforts to engage the community and raise support ahead of another season of baseball in Alpine.

The Alpine Cowboys, a longstanding summer baseball tradition in Far West Texas, regularly host events at Kokernot Field to support team operations and community involvement.
