Mushroom-based wellness products grown and crafted in West Texas are now available at Vise Coffee in Alpine, connecting a local cultivation effort with consumers in the heart of the Big Bend region.
The Big Bend Fungi Company announced this week that its small-batch mushroom extracts, including Lion’s Mane and Reishi varieties, are now available at Vise Coffee in Alpine.
According to the company, the products begin as cultivated mushroom cultures before undergoing a months-long extraction and bottling process. The business says the extracts are produced in small batches using mushrooms grown in West Texas and contain only purified extraction water, organic extraction alcohol and mushrooms, without fillers or artificial additives.
Lion’s Mane mushroom extract is commonly marketed for cognitive support and mental clarity, while Reishi is often associated with immune support and stress relief. The company recommends beginning with a daily serving of 1 to 2 milliliters and says the extracts can be added to coffee, tea or water.
Vise Coffee, located at 105 E. Holland Ave. in Alpine, is now carrying the products, offering customers a chance to try locally produced mushroom extracts while stopping in for coffee and baked goods.
The partnership highlights a growing interest in locally sourced specialty products and functional wellness offerings in Far West Texas.
