Marfa Elementary students will celebrate the end of the school year with a “Splash Day” event on Thursday, May 21, at the practice football field.
According to a promotional flyer shared by organizers, the event will begin at 9 a.m. and feature water slides, food, snacks and other activities for students. Organizers encouraged students to bring towels, swimsuits to wear under clothing, Crocs or tennis shoes and sunscreen. Flip-flops and sandals were discouraged for safety reasons.
The flyer states the event is sponsored with support from the Marfa PTO, the Presidio County Sheriff’s Office, Dairy Queen and local supporters including Sammy Acosta and DJ Chuck.
Organizers said the event is intended to celebrate the completion of the school year with a day of activities and entertainment for students.
