Members of the Alpine High School FFA chapter recently traveled to San Angelo to participate in the Area 2 FFA Convention, joining students from across the region for leadership and agricultural education activities.
According to Alpine ISD, students attending the convention included Sophie Janis, Kaysen Hardaway, Evelyn Smith, Carolyn Newman, Emerson Roach, Hallie Wood and John Ritchie.
The annual event provides FFA members opportunities to strengthen leadership, communication and teamwork skills through workshops, business sessions and networking activities focused on agriculture and community service.
Alpine ISD said Sophie Janis represented the local chapter by serving on the Courtesy Corps and participating on the convention’s nominating committee.
District officials said experiences at the convention help students build public speaking, responsibility and career readiness skills that extend beyond the classroom.
The district also praised the students for representing Alpine FFA at the event and expressed optimism for the chapter’s continued success during the coming year.
