Valentine Independent School District was placed on lockdown early Monday following reports of an armed robbery in the area, according to the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the suspect fled the scene, prompting a search by multiple law enforcement agencies in and around Valentine. The lockdown was implemented as a precaution to protect students and staff.
No injuries were immediately reported, and officials did not release a description of the suspect or additional details about the alleged robbery.
Law enforcement remained active in the area as of Monday morning. Officials said updates would be provided as more information becomes available.
