Sanderson chamber to host Firecracker 5K on July 4

The Sanderson Chamber of Commerce will host a Firecracker 5K run on Independence Day, inviting residents and visitors to celebrate the holiday with a morning race through the community.

The event is scheduled for July 4, with a start time of 8:30 a.m. at the Terrell County Courthouse in Sanderson. Registration costs $20, and early registration is now open.

Organizers said the race is designed to bring the community together for a festive and active start to the holiday, with participants running a route that begins and ends near the courthouse.

Those interested in registering can sign up by texting 432-386-7277, according to event materials.

The Firecracker 5K is part of local Independence Day celebrations and is expected to draw runners of all experience levels.
