Sunshine House launches search for executive director to lead senior services in Alpine, Marathon

Sunshine House Inc., a nonprofit serving seniors, the homebound and individuals with disabilities in the Big Bend region, has launched a search for its next executive director.

The position will serve as the organization’s chief executive officer, working with the board of directors to guide strategic direction and ensure long-term sustainability. The role includes overseeing fundraising, strengthening community partnerships, managing marketing and public relations efforts, and supervising financial operations.

The search follows the resignation of Executive Director Amy Fields, who served the organization in multiple roles over the past four years. Board members expressed gratitude for her leadership and contributions to the nonprofit’s mission.

Sunshine House operates a senior center and a Meals on Wheels program in Alpine and Marathon, providing nutrition services and opportunities for social connection. The organization said it is seeking a leader to build on its existing foundation and guide future growth.

“This is an exciting opportunity for a mission-driven leader to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors in our region,” Board President Katy Williams said in a statement. “We are looking for someone who can strengthen our community presence, expand resources and help ensure Sunshine House remains a sustainable and welcoming place for those we serve.”

Key priorities for the new executive director include implementing the organization’s strategic plan, increasing annual giving and diversified revenue, raising public awareness and supporting staff and volunteers.

Candidates are expected to have experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, financial management, project management or community engagement. Experience in rural communities and senior services is preferred.

More information about the position is available at SunshineHouseAlpine.com. Applicants are asked to submit a cover letter and resume to Board President Katy Williams via email.
