A new coffee shop and bike shop concept is set to open at 103 State St. in Fort Davis, bringing a dual-purpose retail space to the town’s main corridor after months of renovation.
The project, now identified as Morningtime Pedals, combines a bicycle shop and coffee shop into a single business, rather than the two separate storefronts initially described by workers during early construction.
Big Bend Times first reported on the redevelopment in October 2025, when the building — formerly home to the Jeff Davis County Democratic Party headquarters — was undergoing renovation and expected to be divided into two spaces.
During a recent drive through Fort Davis, renovations appeared complete, with exterior signage confirming the Morningtime Pedals concept and a unified storefront.
The addition contributes to a broader wave of locally driven investment along State Street, the primary commercial corridor in downtown Fort Davis, where new and renovated businesses have continued to emerge in recent years.
An official opening date has not been announced.
