Alpine students host color run to benefit Sunshine House

Students at Alpine High School are organizing a community color run and walk next month to raise money for the Sunshine House senior center and Meals on Wheels program.

The event, titled “Bucks Are Painting the Rainbow for the Sunshine House,” is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 9 at Kokernot Park. It is hosted by the Alpine High School Student Council and National Honor Society.

Organizers describe the event as a family-friendly run and walk featuring color-themed activities. Entry is $20, and T-shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Sunshine House, which provides services and meals to seniors in the Alpine area.

The City of Alpine is also listed among supporters of the event. A QR code on promotional materials directs participants to additional information and registration details.

Student organizers say the event is aimed at bringing the community together while supporting a local resource that serves older residents.
