The Mex-Tex Family Fiesta is set to return May 30 at the Midland County Horseshoe Pavilion, marking a new chapter for the long-running Permian Basin event.
Organizers, including the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Tejano Vibes Radio, say the festival will feature a mix of traditional and contemporary performances, highlighting artists such as Grupo Asalto, Angelina Victoria, Sammy Arriaga and a tribute to Emilio Navaira featuring his sons.
The event will be held indoors this year, offering a climate-controlled setting with a large dance floor and closer access to performances. Officials said the change is aimed at improving the experience for attendees.
In addition to live music, the fiesta will include a Mex-Tex cook-off, with competitors invited to register by May 15. Categories include elote, brisket and menudo, with prizes awarded to top المشار entrants.
Organizers said the event celebrates nearly four decades of community tradition in the region, blending food, music and culture for families across Midland, Odessa and the broader Permian Basin.
