Presidio High School rocketry teams compete at SkillsUSA state conference in Corpus Christi

Students from Presidio High School’s rocketry program recently competed at the SkillsUSA State Conference in Corpus Christi, representing Presidio Independent School District in multiple engineering categories.

In the Applied Engineering competition, Team G — Victor Carrasco, Kevin Carrasco, Jose Bustamante and John Cruz — placed 12th out of 19 teams. Team H — Izael Montemayor, Ricardo Ruiz, Santiago Ramirez and Pedro Zuniga — finished 14th out of 19 teams.

In Engineering Design Technology, Team G — Jaslene Saenz, Lourdes Carrera and Celia Sanchez — earned a sixth-place finish out of 16 teams. Team J — Raphael Cruz, Sandra Juarez and Adelicia Razo-Leepr — placed 13th out of 16 teams.

District officials said the competition challenged students to think critically and collaborate while competing against peers from across Texas. Participants gained hands-on experience in engineering disciplines and represented Presidio with determination and pride.
