Fort Stockton ISD to auction surplus vehicles through sealed bids

Fort Stockton Independent School District will accept sealed bids for multiple surplus vehicles, including buses, trucks and vans, with bidding set to close at 11 a.m. April 24, 2026.

The district is requiring separate sealed bids for each vehicle or item. Winning bidders must remove purchased vehicles using their own equipment within 14 days of the auction’s closing date. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of both the bid and the item, which will then be returned to auction.

Officials said the district reserves the right to reject any or all bids and extend the submission deadline if it is deemed to be in the district’s best interest. Bids must be submitted in whole dollar amounts, with a minimum bid of $500 per vehicle. Accepted payment methods include cash, money order or cashier’s check.

Bids must be submitted in person in sealed envelopes to Aimee Bislar at the district’s administration office, located at 101 W. Division St. in Fort Stockton.

The vehicles available include a 2006 Blue Bird charter bus with more than 1.6 million miles, a 1981 Ford truck and several Ford and Chevrolet vans ranging from model years 1993 to 2002, with mileage varying by unit.

Interested bidders may contact Transportation Director James Warnock at 432-290-0642 to schedule inspections of the vehicles prior to April 23.

All items will be sold “as-is, where-is,” without warranty, expressed or implied. Buyers agree to indemnify and hold the district harmless for any damages, claims or liability arising from the sale or removal of the items.
