A zebra was reported wandering along Farm-to-Market Road 170 near Presidio on Tuesday, prompting an unusual response from local authorities.
According to a social media post by Presidio County Chief Deputy Joel Nuñez Jr., the animal was first observed by U.S. Border Patrol agents during a morning patrol. The sighting was later reported to the Presidio County Sheriff’s Office.
Images shared with the post show the zebra walking alone across a desert landscape near the roadside, an uncommon sight in the Trans-Pecos region.
