Federal agents stopped a suspected human smuggling attempt early Tuesday morning involving a U.S. citizen driver and four individuals from Mexico, according to Thaddeus Cleveland.
In a social media post, Cleveland said United States Border Patrol agents in the Sanderson area interdicted the vehicle during the early morning hours. The four passengers were identified as nationals from Guerrero.
Authorities said the case remains under investigation, and additional details have not yet been released.
Incidents like this underscore ongoing enforcement efforts along the border in and around Sanderson, where agents continue working to disrupt human smuggling operations and related criminal activity.
