A Marfa Independent School District student is headed to Austin to compete in the 2026 History Fair after completing a research project highlighting historical issues along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Piper Donaldson will represent Marfa ISD at the statewide competition, where students present projects developed through months of research and analysis. According to a post shared by Marfa Shorthorns, Donaldson’s work reflects extensive effort, creativity and dedication.
Her project examines historical developments tied to immigration and border policy, incorporating primary sources, written analysis and visual presentation materials.
School officials said they are proud of Donaldson’s accomplishment and the way she represents the district at the state level.
The Texas History Fair brings together students from across the state to showcase academic research and compete in a range of categories.
