Fort Davis to host “Coolest 4th of July” celebration for nation’s 250th anniversary

The Fort Davis Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center will host its annual “Coolest 4th of July” celebration July 3–4, marking the 250th anniversary of the United States with a weekend of festivities in the Davis Mountains.

The two-day event will feature a full slate of activities, including live music, games, local vendors and a 5K run. Organizers say the celebration is designed to bring together residents and visitors for a family-friendly Independence Day experience in one of Texas’ most scenic communities.

Highlights of the celebration include a community parade, a traditional barn dance and a fireworks display. Additional activities and attractions are planned throughout the weekend, offering entertainment for all ages.

Fort Davis, known for its cooler summer temperatures compared to much of the state, has long promoted its Independence Day celebration as the “Coolest 4th of July,” drawing visitors from across the region.

Organizers encourage attendees to plan ahead and arrive early for major events, particularly the fireworks show, which is expected to draw large crowds as part of the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration.
