Sul Ross State to Host 9th Annual Student Symposium April 9–10

Sul Ross State University will host its 9th Annual Student Symposium on April 9–10, featuring student research presentations from across its campuses. Admission is free and open to the public.

The symposium will showcase work from students representing a range of academic disciplines, with presentations delivered through both oral sessions and research posters.

The event begins Thursday, April 9, with a virtual symposium that includes a keynote address by Dr. Masahiro “Masa” Ohnishi, a university alumnus. Online presentations will follow throughout the day.

The symposium continues Friday, April 10, with in-person sessions at the Espino Conference Center on the Alpine campus. Dr. Martin Urbina, a distinguished professor of criminal justice and the university’s 2024 Outstanding Scholar, will deliver the keynote address.

Organizers say the annual event provides students an opportunity to share their academic work, collaborate across disciplines and engage with the broader university community.
