Community organizations and local agencies will mark Child Abuse Prevention Month with the fifth annual Siren Sound-Off and Child Abuse Prevention Parade on Thursday, April 9.
The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., starting at Presidio Elementary School and concluding at the Napa Building, located in front of Dollar Tree. Organizers say the event is aimed at raising awareness about child abuse prevention and promoting community involvement in protecting children.
Participants will include local law enforcement, community groups and advocacy organizations, including the Children’s Advocacy Center of the Big Bend. The event will feature a coordinated siren sound-off as part of the awareness effort.
Free hot dogs will be provided to attendees.
Child Abuse Prevention Month, observed each April, highlights the importance of families and communities working together to prevent abuse and ensure children grow up in safe, supportive environments.
