“Our President is not a Christian”: Greene rebukes Trump over Iran rhetoric

Former U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene issued a sharp rebuke of Donald J. Trump on Easter, criticizing a social media post referencing potential military action involving Iran and calling on administration officials to pursue peace.

In her statement, Greene said, “Our President is not a Christian and his words and actions should not be supported by Christians,” one of several pointed criticisms directed at Trump’s rhetoric. She also accused officials in the administration of being “complicit” and urged them to “fall on their knees and beg forgiveness.”

Greene’s comments followed a post attributed to Trump that referenced “Power Plant Day” and “Bridge Day” in Iran and included threats tied to reopening a key maritime passage, widely interpreted as the Strait of Hormuz.

In her response, Greene warned that escalating tensions could harm civilians and argued that Christians should advocate for peace, not war. She said the situation contradicts the message of Easter and called on leaders to “urge the President to make peace, not escalating war.”

The exchange highlights internal divisions among political allies over foreign policy and tone as tensions involving Iran draw heightened attention. There has been no official confirmation of any military action connected to the statements, and U.S. officials have not publicly responded to Greene’s remarks.
