State police in Ojinaga arrested two men earlier this month after allegedly discovering drugs and cash during a surveillance operation, authorities said.
According to the Chihuahua State Public Security Secretariat, the arrests took place April 3 in the Centro neighborhood, where officers observed two individuals attempting to evade police presence. The situation led to a preventive intervention by authorities.
During the inspection, the individuals were identified by authorities as Francisco H. L. and Emanuel R. Z.
Officials said officers recovered 63 packages with characteristics similar to marijuana, along with an additional package believed to contain cocaine. Authorities also reported seizing approximately 10,000 pesos and $313 in cash.
According to the official report, the suspects allegedly attempted to bribe officers to avoid arrest. Police rejected the offer and proceeded with the detention in accordance with the law.
The suspects were turned over to the appropriate authorities as the investigation continues.
