A hands-on candle-making workshop is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, at the Old County Jail Museum, offering participants a chance to explore local history while learning a traditional craft.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the historic site, located at 1551 Main St. Organizers say attendees will create their own candles during the workshop while experiencing one of the region’s most notable historic landmarks.
The program is free to attend, but registration is required, and space is limited.
The workshop is designed for individuals, families and groups looking for a creative and educational activity. Participants will be guided through the candle-making process and will be able to take home their finished product.
The Old County Jail Museum, part of the San Elizario historic district, offers visitors a glimpse into the area’s past and frequently hosts cultural and educational events.
For more information or to register, organizers encourage interested participants to contact event coordinators through Destination El Paso.
