Chihuahua mayor calls PRI-PAN meeting in Ojinaga ‘historic’ amid push for unity

Chihuahua City Mayor Marco Bonilla described a recent meeting in Ojinaga with members and leaders of the Institutional Revolutionary Party and the National Action Party as historic, emphasizing a unified effort to prioritize the state’s progress over partisan differences.

Bonilla said the gathering marked the first time both political groups shared the same space with a common goal of addressing challenges facing the region and the country.

During his remarks, Bonilla pointed to issues including insecurity, limited economic opportunities, business closures, rising debt and ongoing struggles in the agricultural sector. He said Chihuahua has demonstrated contrasting realities, with some areas showing stability and results while others face growing difficulties.

The mayor highlighted the needs of Ojinaga and surrounding communities, particularly support for producers, and said coordinated efforts would be made to address those challenges.

Bonilla also outlined a broader vision for the state, aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for development across all municipalities.

He said the collaboration between the two political parties represents a step toward strengthening Chihuahua statewide, with the goal of delivering balanced progress for families across the region.
