The Big Bend Regional Hospital District is promoting a prescription assistance program that allows eligible residents in Brewster and Presidio counties to obtain most medications for a $5 copay.
The program is aimed at residents who have Medicare coverage but do not have prescription drug coverage under Medicare Part D. According to information shared by the hospital district, qualifying participants may receive up to $5,000 in medications annually through the program.
Participants pay a $5 copay per medication, with eligibility based on income and resource requirements.
The program is administered through Big Bend Health, which encourages residents who believe they may qualify to contact the district for enrollment information.
Officials said the initiative is intended to help reduce the cost of medications for seniors and others in the region who lack prescription coverage.
Residents interested in the program can call 432-837-7051 for additional details and to determine eligibility.
