Alpine High School student Danny Santos placed third at the boys regional powerlifting competition, according to a social media update posted by Alpine Independent School District.
The district reported that Santos “competed extremely well” at the regional event and earned a bronze medal finish.
A photo shared by the district shows Santos wearing an Alpine hoodie and holding his third-place medal inside the competition venue.
School officials congratulated the athlete in the post, praising his performance and expressing pride in his accomplishment.
“Great job Danny!! We are all proud of you!” the district wrote.
