Big Bend Gallery will host an opening reception Friday, Feb. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. for its newest exhibition, Taking Up Space: Women’s Connection Stories, a showcase centered on women’s voices, relationships and shared experiences.
The gallery, located at 121 W. Holland Ave. in Alpine, is operated by the Big Bend Arts Council in collaboration with CatchLight Art Gallery. Organizers describe the exhibition as an exploration of connection through storytelling and visual art, highlighting perspectives that are often underrepresented in traditional gallery spaces.
The exhibition opens to the public Feb. 26 and will remain on view through March 31, 2026. Admission is free, and the reception is open to the public.
Big Bend Gallery emerged as a new community art space following the closure of Gallery on the Square, with a mission to support artists and strengthen the regional arts community across Far West Texas.
