Authorities in the Mexican border community of Manuel Benavides have detained a man accused of sexual-related offenses and transferred him to U.S. officials in Presidio, according to reports shared by Ojinaga Noticias.
The individual, described as a suspect in alleged sexual crimes, was taken into custody after being located by local authorities in Manuel Benavides. Officials said the man was later delivered to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Presidio, Texas.
According to the report, the suspect was the subject of an active detention order in the state of Texas. After entering Mexican territory, he was reported to authorities, allowing law enforcement to track his whereabouts and carry out the arrest.
Following his detention, officials completed the necessary legal procedures for his transfer to U.S. custody. American authorities are expected to continue the legal process related to the case.
