The folkloric dance group Danza Folklórica Awiraru is inviting new members to become part of its growing cultural program in Ojinaga.
The group recently shared a recruitment announcement encouraging residents to join and take part in traditional Mexican dance performances. Practices are held at the Municipal Auditorium from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Awiraru is known locally for its colorful costumes, coordinated choreography, and performances that highlight regional and national folkloric traditions. Members regularly participate in community celebrations, cultural festivals, and special events.
Organizers said the group is open to individuals interested in learning folkloric dance, developing stage presence, and contributing to the preservation of Mexican cultural heritage.
Those interested in joining or learning more are encouraged to contact the group directly at 614-163-6012 for additional information.
Community leaders say programs like Awiraru help strengthen cultural identity in Ojinaga while providing young people and adults with opportunities for artistic expression and teamwork.
