Presidio County Sheriff’s Office deputies recovered approximately 50 pounds of marijuana during a routine patrol along the river on Tuesday after discovering multiple bundles concealed in brush, according to the department.
Authorities said deputies located 39 small bundles and three large bundles and believe their presence in the area may have prevented a pickup of the smuggled product.
Deputies worked with U.S. Border Patrol to search the surrounding area for additional bundles or anyone connected to the delivery. No arrests were reported, and the search concluded without further incident.
