A theatrical production recreating one of the most significant events in regional history will be staged Saturday, Jan. 10, at Teatro Olimpia in Ojinaga.
Toma de Ojinaga (The Taking of Ojinaga) is a stage performance that brings to life the events surrounding the historic seizure of the border city during the Mexican Revolution, a moment that reshaped the region and left a lasting mark on both sides of the Rio Grande.
The production blends dramatic reenactment with historical imagery, portraying the movement of revolutionary forces and the impact of the conflict on local communities. Organizers say the performance is intended to honor the city’s past while making history accessible to new generations through live theater.
The show is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Teatro Olimpia and is presented with the support of the Municipal Government of Ojinaga as part of its cultural programming for the 2024–2027 administration.
Community members and visitors are invited to attend the performance, which highlights Ojinaga’s role in a defining chapter of northern Mexico’s history and underscores the continued importance of preserving regional memory through the arts.
