Voters in Texas’ 23rd Congressional District will have an opportunity to hear directly from Democratic candidates seeking the party’s nomination at a candidate forum scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026.
The forum will begin at 2 p.m. Central Time and will be held in person at Sul Ross State University, located on East Highway 90 in Alpine, Texas. The event will also be accessible virtually, allowing participation from across the geographically large district.
The forum is being hosted by the Texas Democratic Party’s State Democratic Executive Committee for Congressional District 23.
Candidates scheduled to participate, as listed in the Brewster County primary drawing, include:

The forum will be moderated by Reagan Stone, with Nicolette Ardiente and Wesley Lawrence serving as representatives for the district’s State Democratic Executive Committee.
Organizers say the forum is intended to give voters an opportunity to compare candidates’ positions, hear their priorities, and engage with the democratic process ahead of the primary election.
The event is open to the public, both in person and virtually.
