The Alpine Independent School District Speech and Debate team kicked off its competitive season with multiple top finishes at the Monahans Meet, earning early recognition across several debate and speaking categories.
Alpine competitors brought home first, second, third, and fourth-place results, signaling a strong start to the year for the Fightin’ Bucks.
Top results included:
First place, Cross-Examination Debate: Analia Adame and Sye Behan Second place, Lincoln-Douglas Debate: Lillian Stewart Third place, Cross-Examination Debate: Colt Billings and Abigail Scott Fourth place (tie), Informative Speaking: Roseline Haas
Coaches and supporters praised the students for their preparation, professionalism, and competitive performances as the season begins. Team members competed against schools from across the region.
With the first meet complete, Alpine’s Speech and Debate program is expected to continue its schedule throughout the academic season, building toward future UIL competitions.
