Mobile mammogram screenings will be offered at multiple locations across the Big Bend region in January, providing women with convenient access to preventive breast cancer screening services.
According to event organizers, digital mammogram appointments are scheduled at the following locations:
Presidio Activity Center in Presidio on January 12–13 Terlingua Fire & EMS in Terlingua on January 14 Alpine Public Library in Alpine on January 15–16
Appointments are required and availability is limited. Women can schedule a screening by calling 888-204-9214.
Organizers note that women are eligible for a digital mammogram screening if they are at least 40 years old, have not had a mammogram in the past year, and are not experiencing current breast problems or complaints.
Most major insurance plans are accepted, and no physician referral is required for an annual mammogram screening. Self-pay options are available. Patients are asked to bring photo identification and insurance information to their appointment.
